The Acne Affliction

Inspired by a true story. The girl whom this unfortunate event happened to is a good friend of mine and I couldn't help asking her for permission to do out a comic of it ...

Pulau Ubin Sketchwalk, 26 December 2011

This first sketch is of the village chief's shed. Everyone else was doing his house, so I did the shed instead. It turned out waaay too bright though. Will try to make the colour more 'muddy' next time i'm doing a rustic scene like this.

Second sketch, this was not far from the entrance. I loved this little house. I had pointers from some friends on how to make it look more interesting and whether I should go ahead and colour it. I'll post the new result once I'm done with it. I kinda like this sketch and the real-life view was just gorgeous :)

Merry Belated Christmas! :)

The colour I like to, sometimes unwisely, pair up with my favourite colour. But when it does work, purple and yellow really do make a good match ok. tsk!

Jaune — yellow sure sounds a trillion times sexier in French, n'est-ce pas? :)

next in line, the colour most people mistake as my favourite. (not even in my top 3 but I do admit, I have a great deal of blue items, it's easy to see why they get that impression)

I was thinking of spunking up my French again and I am just so sick of tired of just reading words right now and I barely even remember any of the simplest vocabs I was taught yeeeeearrrss ago. So I thought, perhaps I could draw stuff out, it would surely make it stick in my head better.

I started with colours. I have a few pencil sketches of these 'girls at play' and the French word on the image would be whatever colour the girl is wearing. So more of these coming up soon! Oh, and screw saving the best for last, first and foremost I present to you, ma couleur préférée; VIOLET! :)

This was a sketch i did on my own while gawking out the giant windows of the URA center where we're having our Urban Sketchers Singapore exhibition. More about the exhibition and book, check out www.usksgvolumes.com :)
